Welcome to the Rotary Club of Pencarrow!
The Rotary Club of Pencarrow is based in Eastbourne, Lower Hutt, in the Wellington region of New Zealand. Our club is named after the Pencarrow area of coastal land at this side of the harbour and our logo shows the Pencarrow lighthouse, New Zealand's first lighthouse, built in 1858.
Eastbourne is made up of several picturesque bays nestled in lush, thickly-vegetated hills, facing the Wellington harbour and providing spectacular views for residents. The area is renowned for its ‘free-thinkers’, artists, beaches, cafes and restaurants. It is a haven for those who appreciate the importance of building a lifestyle around where they live.

The Rotary Club of Pencarrow meets weekly on Mondays at 6.30pm for a 7pm start at the Lowry Bay Yacht Club which is located in Port Road Seaview, Lower Hutt (click on map). The view north over the marina and on towards Matiu/Somes Island and Wellington would have to one of the most stunning outlooks for any Rotary meeting anywhere.
If you’re in the neighbourhood or looking at doing a make-up, we look forward to hosting you. |

From Immediate Past President John
Just over 12 months ago - we were asked to 'Build Communities and Bridge Continents'. We were reminded that our 'Actions Count' and asked to aim for the moon, and in so doing - maybe we'll hit the cowshed instead of the cow pat. RI President Ray Klinginsmith urged us to both be like the proverbial turtle and stick our necks out if we want to get somewhere. He also talked about cowboy logic and to mend the fence ONLY if it needs fixing. We checked the fence and it appeared to be in good knick.
